WOMEN WHO INSPIRE:  ATHENA BRENSBERGER

“With a background in astrophysics and creative arts,

Athena’s mission is to bridge the gap between entertainment and science.”

Meet Athena Brensberger of Astroathens
in West Hollywood

“Today we’d like to introduce you to Athena Brensberger.”

With a background in astrophysics and creative arts Athena’s mission is to bridge the gap between art and science. She believes science should be more prominent in the entertainment industry, such as astronauts, scientists, and researchers. Her goal is to make science as popular as trending memes on social media, to evolve the mindset of the general public. To create a future where children look up to astronauts and scientists as they do to reality TV stars. While conducting research on proto-planetary disks at the Hayden Planetarium in New York City, she was scouted to be a model. Athena will always remember the day that her mentor Dr. Charles Liu put it all into perspective for her and said “The universe is always going to be here with open arms. Try something out and if doesn’t work, you can always come back.” And with encouragement from Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson she began a decade-long international modeling career. And now is proud to be returning to school 10 years later, to complete her degree and get back what she loves most - exploring the universe.
