The most recent photo taken of our Milky Way galaxy!
All thanks to the APEX Telescope located in Chile! First photo ever taken of our galaxy in sub-millimeter wavelengths (aka between infrared and radio waves) hence why it’s coloring appears different than most photos you may have seen of the Milky Way.
